Volunteers are crucial to our efforts in keeping the animals of our community healthy and happy. Whether you want to help better the lives of our shelter animals directly or you want to improve the lives of all pets in the community by raising public awareness, your efforts really do make a difference!

Foster

Foster care is care administered by foster care volunteers who take the animals temporarily from the shelter to their homes to administer care and treatment necessary to:

1. Prevent contamination of young or medically vulnerable animals with infectious disease agents.
2. Provide continuous monitoring and administer care more of often than shelter staff can reasonably perform.
3. Provide care for underage animals including:
   · Mother cat and kittens
   · Kittens without a mother
   · Mother dog and puppies
   · Puppies without a mother
4. Provide training and socializing to improve their chances of adoption.

A Foster application must be filled out and approved.
