Spay/Neuter
We are now providing low-cost spay/neuter services for the public. We do our surgeries on Thursdays by appointment only.
For dogs and puppies, the cost of the spay/neuter surgery is $35. In order to be eligible for surgery, the dog/puppy must:
- be at least 2 months old (and weigh at least 2 pounds)
- be no more than 6 years old
- be current on its vaccinations
- be in good physical health (no illness within 2 weeks of surgery)
For cats and kittens, the cost of the spay/neuter surgery is $25. In order to be eligible for surgery, the cat/kitten must:
- be at least 2 months old (and weigh at least 2 pounds)
- be no more than 6 years old
- be in good physical health (no illness within 2 weeks of surgery)
We also accept SNAP vouchers (Spay and Neuter Action Program). Call (575)524-9265 for more information.
- For female dogs and cats, we will perform the surgery if the animal is in heat, as well as during any stage of pregnancy. For male dogs and cats, we will perform the surgery if the animal is a cryptorchid (a condition where only one or none of the testicles have descended).

For all dogs and cats over 3 months of age, if they have not already had their Rabies vaccination, we must administer the vaccine at the time of surgery for an additional cost of $10.

For adult dogs over one year of age, we can administer the Parvo/Distemper combo vaccine at the time of surgery for an additional cost of $10 per vaccine.

For puppies under one year of age, they must have received at least 2 out of the 3 Parvo/Distemper combo vaccinations, and they must be on time in their series of 3 vaccinations.

For cats and kittens, we can administer the FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) vaccine at the time of surgery for an additional cost of $10. We do recommend that all cats and kittens be vaccinated, but we do not require that the animal have this vaccine.
